Overview of Print Types

OUR CANVAS PRINT PRODUCTS

Canvas Art Designs specializes in producing premium-quality canvas prints from an online gallery of over 2 million prints. Each canvas print can be customized by color, stretch type and size, which provides customers with the creative control to personalize their selections to meet their unique decorating needs.

PRINTING PROCESS

Canvas Art Designs prints the image onto canvas using the giclée method. The giclee printing method uses wide format, high resolution inkjet printers to spray the ink onto canvas. The canvas print is then sealed with a special UV protectorate that studies show will make prints last with the original vibrant colors for over 100 years! The hi-tech giclee printers reproduce images on canvas with such amazing detail and quality that they must be seen to be believed.

STRETCH PROCESS

Every canvas print that is stretched is done by hand. The canvas is stretched around the sides of the wooden frame and stapled in the back, which hides unsightly staples from view and looks great on the wall. For unframed prints, a saw-tooth hanger is attached to the back so you can easily hang the canvas print on your wall right out of the box. (see our Top 10 Decor Tips for additional info on "how to hang a photo").

CANVAS PRINT TYPES

We offer different canvas print stretch types for each of our art images based upon the characteristics of each image and the stretch types that are most suitable for a great canvas finished product. When you begin the ordering process, you will be able to choose the stretch type that best meets your preferences so that it looks amazing on your wall. Below are descriptions of our print type offerings:

Standard Wrap STANDARD WRAP

Images wrap around 3/4-inch stretcher bars. Prints have saw tooth hangers attached to the back, and are delivered ready to hang on your wall. Works with most frames for Do-it-yourself framing.

Standard - Black Sides STANDARD BLACK SIDES

Similar to Standard Wrap, although image does not wrap around the 3/4-inch stretcher bars. Instead prints have black sides which look sleek. Prints have saw tooth hangers attached to the back, and are delivered ready to hang on wall. Option is also good for framing the print yourself.

Gallery Wrap GALLERY WRAP

Image wraps around 1 1/2-inch stretcher bars, resulting in an art gallery type effect with greater depth perspective than standard wraps when hanging on a wall. Prints have saw tooth hangers attached to the back, and are delivered ready to hang on the wall.

Gallery - Black Sides GALLERY BLACK SIDES

Similar to the Gallery Wrap, although the image does not wrap around the 1 1/2" stretcher frames, and instead the sides are colored black which results in a sleek look. Prints have saw tooth hangers attached to the back, and are delivered ready to hang on the wall.

Framed FRAMED

We offer a sleek matte black frame that we have found is perfect for canvas prints. The molding is 1 5/8 inches wide and 1 3/8 inches thick. Frames have a hanging wire attached to the back and are delivered ready to hang on the wall.

ADDITIONAL ORIENTATIONS

We also offer different orientation options based on the image

PANORAMICPanoramic We offer several images that look great in panoramic sizes. These include cityscape views of several American and International cities, beautiful landscapes, flowers, abstract art and many others. Most panoramic prints utilize a 3-to-1 ratio, while some employ a 2-to-1 ratio. Thus, these canvas prints are great to hang over couches, dressers and other wide furniture, in hallways, or on skinny but wide walls.

TRIPTYCHTriptych One large image is divided into thirds and printed on three separate gallery wraps 'with black sides' that are hung next to each other. This creates an outstanding effect by extending the length of a hallway or wall, and visually appears as if you are looking out of a window at the image. Triptych is perfect for hallways or large rooms where you want to extend and separate a single image (such as a cityscape) to occupy more wall space but still maintain a sense of continuity among prints.
